In 1895 when in Radibor Jurij Sŗodeņk started to teach singing for several voices, it was hard to imagine, that more than a hundred years later they still would be so enthusiastic about Sorbian singing.

The aim of the society "to cultivate the church hymns and the common Sorbian songs" ramain the same today.

At present "Meja" has about 65 members; mor than ever before in its over 109-years-long history. Almost half of them come from Radibor, but some from other parishes, too. At the beginning of the year 2002 they were an average age of 35.

Sorbian folk songs, especially composed by Bjarnat Krawc, are an important part of the repertoire. But we love to sing the songs of our Slavonic neighbours, too.

In a similar manner we cultivate the great works of our Sorbian heritage - the oratorios by Kocor and the church works such as "Missa solemnis" or "Boža mša w kėrlušach" (Service in hymns) by Michaŗ Nawka.

Highlights in our activities are performances and tours of course. Quite often we have been to the Czech Republic, where we have a partnership with the choir in Baška. But we have already been to Poland, Hungary, France, Texas (USA) and Serbia, too.
